Exquisite Corpse

Year: 2025

Collaboration: Konstantina Laki, Daniela Larbalestier

MASDFAB ETH: Inspired by the surrealist game Exquisite Corpse, where different artists contribute to a single drawing without seeing the others’ work, this project explores the fusion of four distinct timber structures into a unique pavilion. Each structure was designed independently using CNC machining and the COMPAS Timber framework, bringing together different design approaches into a cohesive architectural piece. Our team focused specifically on constructing the pavilion using only coplanar half-lap joints, a constraint inspired by Félix Candela’s mastery of parabolic hyperboloids.
